John Sweeney

Mr. Sweeney is a managing director at Brookfield Oaktree Wealth Solutions. In this role, he is the head of business development overseeing national accounts, project management and investor relations. Mr. Sweeney is also the co-head of product development. Most recently, he was a managing director and head of the Americas intermediary business at Oaktree, and from 2014-2018 served as president of Oaktree Funds. Mr. Sweeney joined Oaktree in 2013 from Morgan Stanley where he was a managing director and head of Product Management and Development for the Alternative Investments Business. At Morgan Stanley, Mr. Sweeney was responsible for building out the alternative product suite across hedge funds, private equity, real estate, real assets and fund of funds. Prior thereto, he was the head of Product Management in the U.S. for the Alternative Investments Business of the Citi Private Bank. Before joining Citi, he spent over ten years at Morgan Stanley in a variety of roles, including alternative investments, risk management and institutional fixed-income sales. Mr. Sweeney is a graduate of Fairfield University.
