Claudi Santiago

Mr. Santiago is a senior advisor to Oaktree’s GFI Energy Group, which executes the Power Opportunities investment strategy.  He helps the team anticipate growth opportunities in the power, utility and energy sectors, and invest its capital in leading companies, helping management teams to accelerate the growth of their businesses.  Mr. Santiago has more than 40 years of industry experience.  From 2012 to 2020, he was a managing partner and the chief operating officer at First Reserve Corporation, a leading global private equity firm exclusively focused on energy investments.  Prior thereto, Mr. Santiago spent 32 years with General Electric (“GE”).  From 1999 to 2011, he was a senior vice president of GE and the chief executive officer of GE Oil & Gas.  Mr. Santiago is a director of the Board of Naturgy Energy Group, S.A. and a member of the group’s Appointments and Renumeration Committee, and the Sustainability Committee.  He also serves as a director on the board of FINAVES, the IESE Business School in Barcelona.  Mr. Santiago received a master’s degree in computer science from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona.  He completed post graduate studies at INSEAD, Georgetown University and Harvard Business School.  Mr. Santiago is fluent in Spanish, French and Italian.
