Michael Scardigli

Mr. Scardigli is a managing director in Oaktree’s GFI Energy Group, which executes the Power Opportunities investment strategy.  He is involved in all aspects of GFI Energy’s investment activities including thesis development, sourcing, executing and overseeing investments in our target sectors.  Mr. Scardigli currently serves on the board of LPW Group and Enercon Services and previously served on the board of Signal Energy.  Prior to joining Oaktree in 2022, he was a managing director at First Reserve in Stamford, Connecticut in the firm’s industrial vertical focusing on businesses that supply engineered products or specialty services to critical infrastructure including utility, power, energy, transportation, environmental, water/wastewater, telecommunications and niche industrial markets.  During his 12 years at First Reserve, Mr. Scardigli served on various boards including CHA Consulting, Dresser Utility Solutions, GridTek Utility Services, Intero Integrity Services, IRISNDT Inspection & Engineering and Trillium Flow Technologies.  He began his career in Citigroup’s investment banking division where he focused on mergers and acquisitions.  Mr. Scardigli received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in economics from Georgetown University.
